John 18:1) “There was a garden, which he and his disciples entered.” Mark 14:36 “Not what I want, but what you want.”
What an interesting concept – Jesus telling His father, “forget it, I was wrong, I do not want to died for these people, after all, they do not fit with my concept of good and holy – they are misfits-!” Or, what do you think would have happened if Jesus had succumbed to the enemy and accepted all that he was offered while in the desert? Do not get “holier than thou” on me! You and I, both, have accepted Jesus as our savior, and something had happened – too hard or not; and we have turn our heads away from him- even if for a second! Or as Hamilton says “we [all] have eaten the forbidden fruit”. I am so glad that Jesus went to the Garden, to Gethsemane, to the oil press garden and said, “not my will, but yours be done.” He abide/surrendered to His father’s will! And so do I.
John Wesley said “I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what you will. Rank me with whom you will. Put me to doing; put me to suffering. Let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full. Or let me be empty. Let me have all things. Or let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.” Or as I always say “Even if I crawl, God allow me to do your will and not mine.” No matter how costly it may be. Amen!
Después de decir esto, Jesús salió con Sus discípulos al otro lado del torrente Cedrón, donde había un huerto en el cual entró El con Sus discípulos.Y decía: “¡Abba, Padre! Para Ti todas las cosas son posibles; aparta de Mí esta copa, pero no sea lo que Yo quiero, sino lo que Tú quieras.”
Este es un concepto interesante – Jesús diciéndole a su padre, ” olvídalo, yo estaba equivocado , yo no quiero morir por esta gente , después de todo, no encajan con mi concepto de bueno y santo – son inadequados” O , ¿qué crees que habría pasado si Jesús hubiera sucumbido al enemigo y aceptado todo lo que se le ofreció , mientras estaba en el desierto? No te hagas ” más santo que tú “! Tú y yo , ambos, hemos aceptado a Jesús como nuestro salvador, y por algo sucedio – demasiado duro o no , y nos alejamos de él – aunque sea por un segundo ! O como dice Hamilton ” nosotros [ todos] hemos comido del fruto prohibido” . Estoy muy contento de que Jesús fue al Jardín , a Getsemaní , a la prensa de aceite del jardín y le dijo: ” No se haga mi voluntad , sino la tuya . ” Él permaneció/se entregó a la voluntad de su padre ! Y yo también.
John Wesley dijo: “Yo ya no me pertenezco, soy tuyo. Exponme a lo que quieras. Clasificame con quien quieras. Ponme a hacer , exponme al sufrimiento. Déjame ser empleado para ti o puesto a un lado por ti, exaltado por ti o humillado por ti . Voy a ser completo O déjame estar vacío. Déjame tener todas las cosas. O déjame tener nada . Cedo libremente y de buena gana todas las cosas a tu voluntad y disposición . ” O como yo siempre digo ” Incluso si me arrastro , Dios permiteme hacer tu voluntad y no la mía. “No importa lo costoso que pueda ser . Amén!
