Day 4: Pray for the Homeless – Ora por las personas desamparadas

Betrayed – Traicionad@ (Mark 14:18)

“While they were at the table eating, Jesus said, “I can guarantee this truth: One of you is going to betray me, one who is eating with me!” (GW)

Betrayal can be such an emotional, spiritually painful, demoralizing, hurtful experience. Healing from betrayal can take a long, long time. While it takes a long journey, recovery, healing, reconnection and growth can happen if we work hard to survive the pain. I love what Hamilton says “but most often what is require is grace.”

The experience expressed in the Gospel of Mark is an interesting one. Jesus knew he was going to be betrayed, yet he moved on to allow for intimacy with his friends, including Peter and Judas, one denied him and the other betrayed him with a kiss!

My God, I really need your grace to understand how to forgive those that have betrayed me and to allow the experience to guide me to grow and trust you more. Amen!
