Mark 14: 56-59
“The high priests conspiring with the Jewish Council looked high and low for evidence against Jesus by which they could sentence him to death. They found nothing. Plenty of people were willing to bring in false charges, but nothing added up, and they ended up canceling each other out. Then a few of them stood up and lied: “We heard him say, ‘I am going to tear down this Temple, built by hard labor, and in three days build another without lifting a hand.’” But even they couldn’t agree exactly.”
I laughed as I read this reflection today, How can they testified if they were not transparent or authentic? In order to condemn, they must “stretch the truth”. Isn’t it what people do? They invent, they bring false testimony “we heard this and the other” – and none have really heard anything – pobrecitos. If you are planning to destroy God and his people, please find something to say, agreed among yourselves! The psalm says “The Lord is my light and my salvation. Who is there to fear? The Lord is my life’s fortress. Who is there to be afraid of? Evildoers closed in on me to tear me to pieces. My opponents and enemies stumbled and fell. Even though an army sets up camp against me, my heart will not be afraid. Even though a war breaks out against me, I will still have confidence in the Lord.”
“Lord, I trust you and you alone.”
“Porque aunque muchos presentaban falsos testimonios contra él, se contradecían unos a otros. Algunos se levantaron y lo acusaron falsamente, diciendo: Nosotros lo hemos oído decir: “Yo voy a destruir este templo que hicieron los hombres, y en tres días levantaré otro no hecho por los hombres.” Pero ni aun así estaban de acuerdo en lo que decían.”
Me reí cuando leí esta reflexión de hoy, ¿Cómo podian ellos testificar si no eran transparentes o auténticos? Con el fin de condenar, deben “estirar la verdad”. ¿No es eso lo que se hace? Inventan, traen falso testimonio “nos enteramos de esto y lo otro” – y ninguno ha sabido nada de verdad – pobrecitos. Si usted está planeando destruir a Dios y a su pueblo, por favor, encuentre algo que decir, por lo menos ponganse de acuerdo! El salmo dice: “El Señor es mi luz y mi salvación. Quién hay que temer? El Señor es la fortaleza de mi vida. Quién está ahí para tener miedo? Los malhechores se acercaron a mí para hacerme pedazos. Mis adversarios y enemigos tropezaron y cayeron. A pesar de que un ejército establece un campamento contra mí, mi corazón no tendrá miedo. A pesar de que estalle una guerra contra mí, todavía voy a tener confianza en el Señor “.
“Señor, yo confío en ti y sólo en ti.”
