Mark 14:61b-65 “Yes, I am.”

OK, OK! I got it! If you remain in silence and say nothing you are guilty. And if you say something, you are guilty! The idea is that you are GUILTY, hear me, WE ARE GUILTY if someone do not like our dress code, our skin color; the way we talk…. We are Guilty and they will erase us from their midst. I am so proud of being a Christian, one that identify with the Christ, and at times of trouble remains silence… but only until they ask the wrong or the write question. But again, He – the son of God –the one that heal, the one that eat with us (the rejected, the ignored, the good for nothing) was condemned to death just because he identified himself as I AM (Exodus 3:14). Not only was him condemn, but blindfolded, spat upon and beaten, in attempts to destroy his body … the way that many attempt to destroy our souls, our spiritual selves!
Dear I am, I love you and I am honor to be identified with you in your suffering and in accepting the other as you accepted me! Amen.

OK, OK ! ¡Ya entiendo! Si permaneces en silencio y no dices nada eres culpable . Y si dices algo, eres culpable ! La idea es que eres culpable , escúchame bien, “somos culpables si alguien no le gusta nuestra manera de vestir, el color de nuestra piel , la forma en que hablamos …. Somos culpables y nos borran de su presencia. Estoy muy orgullosa de ser cristiana, me identifico con el Cristo, y en los momentos de apuro guardo silencio … pero sólo hasta que me hacen la pregunta correcta o la incorrecta. – El hijo de Dios – que sano a muchos, el que come con nosotr@s ( los rechazad@s , los ignored@s, los que no sirven para nada ) fue condenado a muerte sólo porque él se identificó como YO SOY ( Éxodo 3:14 ). No sólo lo reprenden, le vendan los ojos, lo escupieron y lo golpearon , y hasta intentaron destruir su cuerpo … la forma en que muchos intentan destruir nuestra alma, nuestro espiritu!

Mark 14:56-59 “their statements did not agree”

Only a twit, tweet words to obtain what we must. Being a witness requires that we check what we are saying, clarify and close the loop IF our goal is to bring unity and collaboration! Jesus said “You destroy and I will raise it up.” Physical buildings are so important to many, I wonder if we placed the same interest in how we destroy our and … [the other] spiritual building. How we injure the spiritual well-being of those around us? Jesus said it will take 3 days to rebuild, however, when we destroyed others with malign words sometimes it takes an entire life and a village to rebuild this person’s integrity and dignity.

Dear God, do not allow me to proclaim to be a restorer of broken walls when I am the cause of the destruction. Amen.

Marcos 14:56-59 “falsos testimonies”

Solo un imbécil, ‘twittea’ palabras para obtener lo que queremos. Ser un testigo requiere que verifiquemos lo que estamos diciendo, clarifiquemos y cerremos el ciclo SI nuestro objetivo es traer unidad y colaboración. Jesús dijo: “Tú destruyes, yo levantaré”. Los edificios físicos son tan importantes, para muchos, me pregunto si tenemos el mismo interés en cómo destruimos nuestro y … [el otro] edificio espiritual. ¿Cómo perjudicamos el bienestar espiritual de quienes nos rodean? Jesús dijo que tomará 3 días reconstruir, sin embargo, cuando destruimos a otros con palabras malignas, a veces se necesita una vida entera y una aldea para reconstruir la integridad y la dignidad de esta persona.

Mark 14:53,55 “…the scribes were assembled…for testimony…”

Hum! It is always time to testify! It is always time to be a witness! But where? In front of your friends, in front of the church or in the middle of those that accused you of something you have not done! Jesus is our witness, he testifies in our behalf, stop being judgmental and using the word to justify what you do… do it because there is no need of space to betray the one who has called you.

Thank you for healing me, for opening my eyes and for loving me. I am a witness of your grace. Amen

Marcos 14: 53,55 “… los escribas se reunieron … para testimonio …”

¡Hum! ¡Siempre es tiempo de testificar! ¡Siempre es hora de ser un testigo! ¿Pero donde? ¡En frente de tus amigos, frente a la iglesia o en medio de aquellos que te acusaron de algo que no has hecho! Jesús es nuestro testigo, él testifica en nuestro nombre, deja de juzgar y usar la palabra para justificar lo que haces … hazlo porque no hay necesidad de espacio para traicionar a quien te ha llamado.

Mark 14:43-44 “’…Rabbi’ and kiss him.”

Sad, Sad, Sad! It is hard to understand how one can be part of the inner circle, identified as a person of trust and betray your friend “a cuchilla de palo.” I am reflecting in those covenanted relationships that we have formed, what happens when we no longer believe, when the relationship goes sour; do you betray and tell all or do you maintain a sense of decorum?

Oh my God, please hold me near when I am conflicted. Amen.

Marcos 14: 43-44 “‘… Rabino’ y lo besó”.

¡Triste, triste, triste! Es difícil entender cómo uno puede ser parte del círculo interno, identificado como una persona de confianza y traicionar a su amigo “a cuchilla de palo”. Estoy reflejando en esas relaciones pactadas que hemos formado, lo que sucede cuando ya no creen, cuando la relación se agria; ¿Traicionas y lo cuentas todo o mantienes un sentido de decoro?

Mark 14:37-41

“Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Enough! The hour has come.”

When Jesus needed his friends near and ready, they fall asleep. When this world needs us the most to be awake, to be ready, we fall asleep. “Basta!” It is no time to let our spirits take a break, the injustices that we are experiencing required that we are awake, that we are ready, that we go to the feet of Jesus, to the throne of God and pray without cease.

Enough is enough, teach us to pray even when we are tired! Amen

Marcos 14: 37-41

“¿Siguen durmiendo y descansando? ¡Basta ya! Ha llegado la hora “.

Cuando Jesús necesitaba a sus amigos cerca y alerta, se durmieron. Cuando este mundo necesita más que estemos despiertos, que estemos alerta, nos quedamos dormidos. “¡Basta!” No es el momento de dejar que nuestro espíritu descanse, las injusticias que estamos experimentando requieren que estemos despiertos, que estemos listos, que vayamos a los pies de Jesús, al trono de Dios y oremos sin cesar.

John 18:1 and Mark 14:36

“They [Jesus and his
disciples] entered the garden that was there.” “Not what I want, but what you want.”

Here Jesus go, to pray at a garden, the place of the oil press, or what many know as the Garden of Gethsemane. For me this garden is where suffering happens, where one is “molido,” and when you are pressed to the core of who you are and you know your purpose at that juncture, who will not say “I surrender all.”

Jesus, really I surrender all to you who make me whole. Amen.

Juan 18: 1 y Marcos 14:36

“Ellos [Jesús y sus discípulos] entraron al jardín que estaba allí”. “No es lo que quiero, sino lo que quieres”.

Aquí Jesús va a orar en un jardín, el lugar donde se prensaba aceite, o lo que muchos conocen como el Jardín de Getsemaní. Para mí, este jardín es donde ocurre el sufrimiento, donde uno es “molido”, y se que cuando uno está presionado hasta el centro de lo que uno es y sabe cuál es su propósito, quién no diría “renuncio a todo”.

Mark 14:35-36

“Abba, […] take this cup of suffering away from me”(GW)

Listen, this was not a cup of coffee or a cup of tea. This was a cup of pain, a cup of separation from the Holy, a cup that he accepted just for you and me; a costly cup. At such an injunction, the only thing one can do is hit the ground and pray “help me to accept my call, my mission, no matter what.” Instead, many times I have listened to myself saying: “remove this cup from me”…

· The cup of rejection,

· the cup of abandonment,

· the cup of divide,

· the cup that, according to many, will ostracize and demark who is good and who is not, who is accepted and who is not, who is holy and who is not; who can enter to God’s presence or who should not be accepted in God’s Kingdom”.

“Jesus, I am so honor that you did not say, “send someone else” and that you have called me and accepted me into your Kingdom. I am so honor that you did not found another way for me to enter, but freely and willingly opened the gate of salvation for all humanity and me to enter. Allow me to sit with you in my garden because it is too costly to sit here alone.” Amen.

“¡Papá!, […] Aparta de mí esta copa” (RVR 1995)

Escucha, esto no era una copa de café o una copa de té. Esta fue una copa de dolor, una copa de separación de todo lo que es santo , una copa que aceptó sólo por ti y por mí , una copa costosa. En tal momento, lo único que uno puede hacer es tirarse al suelo y orar. “Ayúdame a aceptar mi llamado, mi misión , no importarme nada.” En cambio, muchas veces me he escuchado decir: ” quita de mí esta copa ” …

• La copa de rechazo,

• la copa de abandono,

• la copa de la división ,

• la copa que , según muchos, es de ostracismo y demarca quién es bueno y quién no lo es, que es aceptado y quién no lo es, quién es santo y quién no , quién puede entrar a la presencia de Dios o quien no debe ser aceptado en su Reino “ .

Mark 14:32-34

They went to a place called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He took with him Peter, and James and John, and began to be distress and agitated. And he said to them, “I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and keep awake.”

In time of sorrow, depression, and death, when facing the unknown and feeling afraid, can we dance and be fill with joy? I don’t think so! I believe that Jesus modeled what any human being facing such experiences will feel and do – he became distress and agitated. This does not makes him less God, at least in my eyes, he showed me that it is OK to feel the way one feels, but in the midst of this, TRUST YOUR GOD, he knows best and will give you solace.

Holy One, thank you for showing me that it is OK to feel the way one feels in situations that cannot be immediately changed. Thank you for the Spirit of prayer that comes from a place of want, a place of need. You are truly my role model! Amen.

“Jesús y sus discípulos fueron a un lugar llamado Getsemaní, y él les dijo: «Quédense aquí mientras yo voy a orar.» Jesús invitó a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan, para que lo acompañaran. Empezó a sentirse muy, pero muy triste, y les dijo a los tres: «Estoy muy triste, y siento que me voy a morir; quédense aquí y no se duerman.»

En momentos de tristeza, depresión y, muerte, cuando se un@ enfrenta a lo desconocido y tiene esa sensación de miedo, podemos bailar y estar llenos de alegría? Yo no lo creo! Yo creo que Jesús ejemplificó lo que cualquier ser humano frente a tales experiencias sienten y hacen – se angustió y se agitó. Esto no lo hace menos Dios, por lo menos en mis ojos, me enseñó que está bien sentir lo que uno siente, pero en medio de todo esto, confía en tu Dios, que conoce mejor y te dará consuelo.
